Trump Offers to Mediate Amid Rising India-Pakistan Tensions

U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to intervene in the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan, offering to help mediate peace if requested by both nations.

Speaking in response to a question regarding escalating hostilities—reportedly referred to as Operation Sindoor—Trump reiterated his long-standing position of maintaining good relationships with both countries. “Good relationships with both and I want to see it stop. And if I can do anything to help, I will be there,” he said.

Trump, who had previously offered to mediate on the Kashmir dispute during his presidency, emphasized that peace and stability in South Asia remain crucial for global security. While neither India nor Pakistan has formally responded to his latest statement, international observers are closely monitoring developments in the region.

The tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours have reportedly flared up in recent days, though official details remain limited. Analysts suggest that any outside intervention would require formal consent from both nations, particularly India, which traditionally opposes third-party mediation on bilateral matters.

Despite being out of office, Trump continues to influence foreign policy discussions and is expected to make foreign affairs a major part of his platform as he eyes a potential political comeback.
