In a strong show of support for India, Germany has reiterated its commitment to the global fight against terrorism and recognized every nation's sovereign right to defend itself.
Speaking at a press conference, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock underscored her country’s solidarity with India in combating terrorism. “Germany stands firmly with India in its battle against terrorism,” she said. “Every country has the full right to self-defense in the face of such threats.”
This statement comes in the wake of rising global security concerns and follows increasing calls for coordinated international efforts to counter terrorism networks.
Baerbock noted that Germany had initiated a new diplomatic and strategic dialogue with India on April 22, aimed at enhancing cooperation on issues including counter-terrorism, cyber security, and regional stability. She emphasized that protecting innocent lives from acts of terror is not only a matter of national security but also a fundamental human rights obligation.
India has long sought international support for its efforts to combat terrorism, particularly in the South Asian region. The German Foreign Minister’s remarks are being viewed in New Delhi as a significant diplomatic endorsement.
Officials from both countries are expected to deepen intelligence sharing and collaborate on joint counter-terrorism strategies through upcoming bilateral talks.
